After many years in the United States, Christine returned to Germany and began training with Johann Hinnemann, her mentor, where she spent six years under his guiding eye. With long-time partner Etienne, Traurig was selected to represent the United States Dressage Team at the Sydney Olympics clinching a bronze metal.  Traurig was named the US Olympic Committee’s Female Equestrian Athlete of the Year in 2000. In 2002, Traurig and Etienne were selected as the alternate rider for the US to WEG in Jerez, Spain.

In 2005 Traurig moved back to California and to Albert Court where she still currently operates Christine Traurig Dressage Stable.
